The Low-Pro Flatdeck with Duals (LD) from PJ Trailers is a tough, dependable gooseneck trailer. That is something every hotshot trucker needs. PJ Trailers was established in 1991, and it has become a premier trailer manufacturer in the United States. PJ Trailers build high-end, well-constructed trailers.
The Low-Pro Flatdeck has a gross vehicle weight rating (GVWR) of 25,000 pounds. The Low-Pro also has a gross axle weight rating is 10,000 pounds per axle. There are two axles. PJ Trailer’s Low-Pro has been designed to haul large loads. This allows hotshot truckers to haul loads of all sizes.
There are two Dexter Oil Bath Brake Axles on the Low-Pro Flatdeck. Each Dexter Axle can hold 10,000 pounds. Dexter Axles are a progressive and trusted leader in the automotive industry. Dexter Axles are designed and crafted to last for years. Dexter Axles provide quality and durability to your trailer. There is a five-year warranty on Dexter Axles. You can count on these heavy-duty axles, and they will last for years to come.
Monster Steps are now the standard side step for all PJ Trailers, and the Low-Pro Flatdeck is no exception. Monster Steps are made from steel grating. This is to increase traction. The Monster Steps are 12.5-inches wide. Most trailers on the market have a small step on the side of the trailer bed. You can barely fit both feet on them, and it makes it difficult for you to get on and off your trailer. Since the Monster Steps are 12.5-inches, it allows for both feet to be on the step at once. That improves stability and safety when you need to get on the bed of your trailer. The Monster Steps have excellent grip in mud and snow, as well. The Monster Steps are also self-cleaning. This makes the Low-Pro Flatdeck convenient for hotshot truckers.
The Low-Pro Flatdeck has rub rails. Rub rails are valuable to your trailer. The rub rails are designed to “rub” against other objects (i.e. walls or highway barricades, etc.). This allows the rub rails to absorb impact and trauma. This protects the trailer from damage. The rub rails also protect the chains, straps, and ropes that are commonly used to secure cargo on the trailer.
PJ Trailer’s Low-Pro Flatdeck Gooseneck also has stake pockets. Stake pockets also improve the securement of the trailer and cargo. Stake pockets are bolted on to the side of the trailer. This is so you can build a sidewall to contain cargo. This keeps cargo safe from damage.
Toolbox & Chain Holder
The Low-Pro Flatdeck Gooseneck has a front toolbox with a chain holder. Hotshot truckers can store whatever tools and equipment they need conveniently in the toolbox. Since the toolbox is lockable, hotshot truckers do not have to worry about their tools, equipment, or any of the other contents of their toolbox getting stolen.
LED Lighting & Reflective Tape
The Low-Pro Flatdeck has flush mount lifetime LED lighting and reflective tape. LED Lighting will ensure the trailer is properly lit, and it allows for more visibility on the road. The reflective tape greatly increases nighttime visibility of hotshot trailers. Both lighting and reflective tape are required by law.
The Low-Pro Flatdeck already comes with Department of Transportation (DOT) approved lighting. This means the lighting and reflective tape is legal across the United States and Canada. The fact that the lighting and reflective tape are DOT approved, gives hotshot truckers peace of mind. It also saves truckers money, because they do not have to pay extra money to have the lights and tape DOT approved after they have bought the trailer.
Side Turn Flashers
The Low-Pro Flatdeck Gooseneck from PJ Trailers comes with amber side turn flashers. These will help alert other drivers you are making a turn. When you are having turn flashers on your trailer, it promotes safety.
The Low-Pro Flatdeck Gooseneck from PJ Trailers is available in a variety of lengths. The available lengths are 20 feet, 22 feet, 24 feet, 25 feet, 26 feet, 28 feet, 30 feet, 32 feet, 34 feet, 35 feet, 36 feet, 38 feet, 40 feet, 42 feet, and 44 feet. No matter the trailer length, the flatbed of the trailer comes standard as 102-inches wide. The flat deck is two inches thick. The Low-Pro Flatdeck Gooseneck is also made of treated pine lumber.
Underframe bridging is standard on goosenecks that are thirty feet and up. It can be added to gooseneck trailers that are less than thirty feet as an option. The underframe bridging is a 2-inch X 3/8-inch flat that spans across the bottom of the trailer frame. Underframe bridging frame strengthens the frame of the trailer, and it helps prevent frame flex or frame fatigue.
When a trailer has frame fatigue or frame flex, it can start shaking as you are driving down the road. You cannot haul loads safely when your trailer is fatigued, and your trailer becomes unfit and unsafe for you and other drivers. The underframe bridge will help compensate for the weight, and hotshot truckers can haul heavy loads without fear.
The Low-Pro Flatdeck Gooseneck is sandblasted, acid washed, and then powder coated before it leaves the factory. Powder coat paint is the latest in the trailer manufacturing industry. The powder coat paint gives the trailer a matte finish, and it makes the trailer look sleek. It will also last for years to come. The powder coat paint will last for years to come. There is also a variety of color options, but black is standard on the Low-Pro Flatdeck Gooseneck.
Electric Breakaway Kit & Charger
The Low-Pro Flatdeck from PJ Trailer comes standard with an electric breakaway kit with a charger. The breakaway system is designed to bring your trailer safely to a stop by activating its electric brakes if it becomes disconnected while being towed. A rechargeable battery is included so you never have to worry about the breakaway kit not being usable.
There is a sealed bargman wire harness with a seven-way RV plug on the Low-Pro Flatdeck Gooseneck. There are various wires that allow the transfer of power for the lighting, as well as auxiliary functions such as an electric trailer brake controller, backup lights, or power supply for a winch, or interior trailer lights. If your gooseneck trailer is not equipped with a preformed wire harness, the wires are going to be prone to get ruined. When your wires are ruined, your trailer cannot function properly. You cannot use the brake controller, backup lights, power supply, or the trailer lights. That can be dangerous for you and other drivers on the road. The sealed wiring harness of the Low-Pro Flatdeck Gooseneck will resist any harsh weather, and it will ensure your wires will last.
The Low-Pro Flatdeck Gooseneck is equipped with five leaf slipper spring suspension. The slipper leaf spring acts as part of a trailer’s suspension system. This provides an attachment point for a 10,000-pound axle. The spring flexes to resist shock, and it also ensures a smooth ride.
The Low-Pro Flatdeck Gooseneck Trailer from PJ Trailers have eight dual wheels. They are sixteen-inch wheels. One of the biggest advantages to dual wheels is that they can distribute the weight of the payload more evenly. This allows for improved stability when hotshot truckers are hauling larger loads.
The Low-Pro Flatdeck Gooseneck comes standard with radial tires. Some trailers come with cross-ply tires. Cross-ply tires are an older design, and almost all tires manufactured today are radial type tires. Radial tires utilize a symmetrical radial pattern for the base tire ply. This design requires a much higher level of quality control and design calculation.
Radial tires have many benefits. The first being they reduce rolling resistance. This results in improved fuel economy and it reduced the wearing on the tires. Radial tires also improve control and it betters reduced traction in inclement weather. It is great for a hotshot trailer to be in radial tires. Hotshot truckers travel all across the United States and Canada. Hotshot truckers might encounter snow or ice, but their tires will help with traction. Since the tires also reduce rolling resistance, it improves mileage. It goes without saying that hotshot truckers put the miles on their trucks and trailers.
There are safety chains on the Low-Pro Flatdeck Gooseneck. The purpose of safety chains is to retain the connection between the towing vehicle and trailer in the event of separation of the trailer coupling from the ball or the ball from the trailer hitch, long enough to bring the vehicles to a stop. Hopefully, no hotshot trucker has to ever worry about this happening, but it great to know that your trailer is equipped for the event it does.
There are accessories that come along with the Low-Pro Flatdeck Gooseneck from PJ Trailers. You can get stake pockets for D-Rings, stake pockets for mounting a spare tire, bolt-on chain rack, and stainless-steel wheel simulators.
