If you have a CDL and are looking for a heavy duty trailer with high GVWR, Load Trail’s GH30 is worth considering. It has a GVWR of 30,000 pounds, one of the highest we have seen for hotshot trucking. You know that it is built tough and designed for heavy duty use due to its durable construction. These are some of its best features:

I-Beam Frame

This trailer has a tough and sturdy frame as it uses a 12-inch I-Beam (22 lbs/ft). This material handles flexing well, which in turn reduces the wear and tear on the trailer. The I-Beam frame is also generally stronger than a channel frame, which gives you an advantage especially if you are often hauling heavy cargo.

Moreover, Load Trail uses the same 12-inch I-Beam for the tongue and neck of GH30. This makes the overall construction of this trailer extra strong for heavy duty use.

Flatbed

This trailer model is available in different deck lengths, ranging from 16 feet to 44 feet, with trailers 36 feet and above fitted with under frame bridge and pipe bridge for additional frame support.

The floor is made of treated wood which offers good traction and is also durable. However, Load Trail also offers alternative options which include steel, rough oak, Douglas fir and blackwood floor which are also considerably tough and with its own pros and cons.

Dexter Axles

This trailer has tri-axles, with each axle having a capacity of 12,000 lbs. Dexter axles are well-crafted and known to be super-duty compared to other brands. Moreover, as a security feature, each axle is fitted with electric brakes, giving you maximum stopping power when you need it.

LED Lights

LED lights are among the best you can use for your trailer as they provide excellent illumination, consume less energy, and last longer. They are a bit more expensive than regular bulbs but they are more cost-efficient in the long run. This trailer’s LED lights for stop, tail, turn and clearance are all DOT-approved.

Slide-In Ramps

To facilitate a more convenient and easy access to the deck, the GH30 comes with 8′ slide-in ramps as part of the standard equipment. However, they also offer optional features which include a 5-feet self-cleaning dovetail with flip-over ramps or max ramps.

Jack

Two drop-leg spring-return jacks with 10K capacity each help keep this trailer stable when unhooked from the vehicle. They give you added flexibility of using your vehicle for other purposes while you’re working on the trailer.

TGIC Gloss Powder Topcoat Finish

The GH30 uses a Sherwin-Williams Powdura OneCure Primer with Polyester TGIC Gloss Powder Topcoat. It is resistant to scuffing, abrasion, scratching and impact, keeping your trailer looking good for a long time.

Tool Box

A big toolbox is a bonus feature for this trailer as it gives you adequate storage space for your tools and equipment for your long trip. The toolbox of this trailer is located in the front.

HDSS Suspension

A multi-leaf slipper spring suspension allows for bigger weight capacities and it also keeps the trailer more stable even on uneven surfaces. This helps extend the life of the trailer.

Radial Tires

Radial tires typically last longer and perform better compared than other types of tires. Aside from that, they also have less rolling-resistance, making them fuel efficient. This trailer is fitted with 235/80 R16 LRE tires and comes with a spare.

EDITOR’S RATING: 8/10

We give this trailer a high rating due to its numerous standout features. One of the components you would love about this trailer is its I-Beam frame, tongue and neck. The I-Beam makes this trailer super-duty which is ideal for heavy use. Aside from the frame, there are other good features that this trailer has, including the addition of a big toolbox, Dexter tri-axles, LED lights and ramps.

However, this trailer is only available on dealership which can make it a bit expensive. It’s also a good idea if it has bigger side steps and handles for easy access to the deck.
