Want a car hauler with a high weight capacity and heavy duty parts? Load Trail’s CH16 has 16,000 lbs GVWR and has extra durable components as part of its standard equipment. It is a versatile trailer that you can use, not just for loading cars but also other heavy equipment. Some of its standout features include:
The CH16 is available in different flatbed lengths, from 16-foot to 40-foot flatbeds, allowing you to choose one that suits the type of cargo you frequently haul. Moreover, the standard flooring is treated wood, but you have the option to upgrade to steel diamond plate, rough oak, Douglas fir or blackwood floor. Treated wood is a good choice for trailers and is also commonly used by many manufacturers. It is durable, easy to maintain and inexpensive, which also translates to reduced cost of the trailer.
DOT LED lights
One of the most important safety features of a trailer is the lightings. And when it comes to maximum brightness, you can rely on LED lights. LED lights also last longer and are more economical in the long run. This trailer comes with DOT-approved LED lights for stop, tail, turn and clearance.
Gloss Powder Topcoat Finish
The CH16 has refined and polished aesthetics due to its use of Sherwin-Williams Powdura OneCure Primer with Polyester TGIC gloss powder topcoat finish. This paint is resistant to scratching, impact and abrasion. This will make the trailer look good for a long time.
5′ Slide-in ramps are a good addition to the standard equipment of this trailer as they allow for easier, faster and more convenient access to the bed. If slide-in ramps do not suit you, you may also choose from other optional features which include a dove tail, fold-up ramps and fold-up gate.
An unreliable axle will cause your trailer to fail. That’s why Load Trail uses nothing but the best brand for axles, namely Dexter axles. This trailer is fitted with two 8,000-pound cambered Dexter spring axles with two electric NEV-R-ADJUST brakes as a security feature. These brakes ensure that the trailer has quick stopping power.
Multi-leaf Slipper Spring Suspension
A multi-leaf slipper suspension has a longer wear life and can withstand prolonged and heavy use, even with higher weight capacities. This feature makes this type of suspension a good fit for hotshot trailers. However, one drawback is that they can be a bit noisy compared to other types of suspensions.
This trailer comes with 215/75 R17.5 LRH tires. Radial tires are ideal for trailers as they last longer and promote fuel efficiency. The CH16 is also fitted with removable diamond plate fenders which do not only protect the tires but also add to the trailer’s aesthetic.

EDITOR’S RATING: 7.4/10
Looking at the features of the CH16 as we listed above, you’d probably notice its many great features which include the Dexter axles, multi-leaf suspension spring, durable flatbed and slide-in ramps. It is also ready to use as it already comes with DOT-approved lights which are acceptable in all states.
However, one drawback for its trailers is that they are only available through dealerships, and dealers typically charge a big mark-up which is an added cost on your part. Apart from that, it also has some limitations in standard equipment. For one, it has no option for a toolbox. It also has no large steps and handles for climbing up and down the bed.
